Ordering and Shipping Information

How long does it take to ship my order after placing the order?

The lead time for robot orders is mentioned on the product page and is updated depending on the available stock and number of orders in the queue. Right now the lead time is 3 weeks.

How can I place an order?

You can directly submit your orders on our website. If you need a formal invoice before payment, send an email to support@dorna.ai with your request. For larger orders, to receive custom pricing please directly contact us at support@dorna.ai.

What methods of payment do you accept?

You can directly submit your order on the website using credit card or Paypal. We also accept wire transfer payments. If you would like to pay using wire transfer, contact us at support@dorna.ai to receive a formal invoice with bank details.

How much is the shipping?

The shipping charges vary depending on your shipping address. To see the shipping charges, add the items that you need to your shopping cart and enter your shipping address on the check out page, then the website will calculate and show the shipping charges for your order.

What shipping methods are available?

We use UPS Ground to ship the US orders and DHL Express for international orders. If you have your preferred method of shipping, or want to use your own account with a shipping carrier, you can notify us before shipping and we can accommodate your request.

How long will it take to get my package?

From the time that we ship your order, it normally takes between 3 to 5 days for the shipping carrier to deliver your order. For international orders, the customs process might cause extra delay in delivery of your package. The delay varies between different countries and we cannot provide an estimate for it.

How about the customs duties?

Buyer has to pay for any customs duties that occur on international packages. If you need any extra document for customs processes, please let us know and we can help you with that.

Do you provide warranty on the robots?

We provide 6 months warranty on all purchases from Dorna Robotics. If you have any problem with the robot or its accessories, please contact us at support@dorna.ai and we will provide assistance with the problem. 

Can I return my order?

If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you can return it to us within 14 days after receiving it. Please make sure to contact us before returning the items to receive return authorization number. We need to receive the items in the same conditions that sent them to you. After we receive your returned items, we will inspect them and will refund your purchase minus 20% restocking fee and original shipping and handling charges using the same method of payment that you used. Please make extra care when packaging the returned items and use insured shipping services to ship the items back to us.

Do you offer any customization on the arm or accessories?

Yes. We provide customization in hardware, and software of the arm or any of the accessories that come with the robot. Please contact our support team at support@dorna.ai with the details of your project and we will get back to you soon.

Setting up Dorna

Does Dorna require a specific AC voltage to work?

Dorna can work with 110V to 230V AC power outlets. You do not need to adjustment for it to work.

How can I install Dorna on a surface?

Make sure you choose a flat and firm surface for safe and vibration free operation of Dorna. There are four 1/4″ (6.35mm) installation holes on the bottom of Dorna which are 2.5″ (63.5mm) apart. Use four 1/4-20 or similar metric sized screws and nuts to secure the arm to the surface.

Can I operate Dorna upside down?

Yes. You can operate Dorna in an upside down position. Make sure the installation is secure. Before powering the robot off, make the clearance needed for the arm as the motors do not hold their position when power is off. 

Do I need to place the arm in a specific position before turning it on?

You need to place the arm in a resting position. Please see the help page for more details. 

Is a computer needed for operating Dorna?

Yes. Dorna needs a computer connection for proper functioning. The connection is through USB cable. You can operate Dorna using Mac OS, Windows, or Linux using either Dorna software or Dorna API.

Can Dorna be operated wirelessly?

Yes. Using a low cost Raspberry Pi computer, you can remotely control Dorna over a wifi network. For details of implementation you can refer to the tutorials section.

Software and API

Do I need to know any programming language to work with Dorna?

No knowledge of programming of any specific language is needed to work with Dorna. To make a program using Dorna software, you can add commands one by one using the interactive command interface, by filling in your desired parameters. You can also test 

What is the difference between Dorna software and Dorna API? Which one should I use?

Dorna Python API is the underlying software that talks to Dorna microcontroller and send commands and receive responses from it. We have made Dorna API completely open source and available for public usage. If you know Python language you can easily download the API and start programming Dorna by just relying on the API. With the API you have access to all the resources available to a Python user including loops, if-else conditions, data structure, and a wire range of other libraries for different applications. Dorna software, is a user web interface built on top of the Python API which makes the interaction and programming of Dorna much simpler. You do not need to know any programming language to work with the software. The software provide a jogging interface which lets the user move the robot to desired locations and save them as part of a program. Most configuration values of the robot are also available in GUI platform for user to adjust. Furthermore, the software, provides a graphical representation of the robot which can be used as a simulator or as a visual guide for programming the arm. As a summary, both Python API and Dorna software are great ways to interact and program the robot. Depending on the application and your level of familiarity with Python you can choose to work with the API or the software.
