Raspberry Pi with Dorna

You can use your Raspberry Pi to control Dorna. In this tutorial, I\’ll go over the basic steps to get you up and running with Raspberry Pi and Dorna.

Step 1: Plug in your Pi

Plug your Raspberry Pi into a power source and use a micro USB cable to plug your Pi into the Dorna controller box.

Step 2: SSH into your Pi

Connect to your Raspberry Pi with SSH. If you need help setting up SSH on your Pi, you can refer to Raspberry Pi\’s documentation. Once you have SSH up and running on your Pi, in your terminal, type:

ssh [user]@[hostname]

Step 3: Install the API on your Pi

Once you\’ve connected to your Raspberry Pi, you need to download the Dorna API. Check the latest release page for the most up-to-date version of the API. Download the compressed source code file ( for example Source code.zip or Source code.tar.gz). After downloading, decompress the file, go to the directory, and run:

python setup.py install

Step 4: Connect to Dorna

Once you\’ve installed the API, you\’re ready to start using Dorna. Start an instance of Python and get started. Import the module and create a Dorna object for interacting with the API:

from dorna import Dorna
robot = Dorna()

For more information on the API and what to do next, you can refer to the Dorna Wiki.
