The Dorna Microtube Picking Solution uses AI-powered 3D vision to locate microplates and microtubes—regardless of exact positioning—and reliably pick, transfer, and place them into new plates. It's capable of handling screw-cap, snap-cap, and other tube varieties, it delivers rapid cycle times in a compact, modular footprint. This adaptable system ensures precise, efficient processing without rigid setup requirements.

Compact and Scalable

Designed to fit on a standard lab bench, the system combines a high-speed Dorna TA robot and a vision module in a minimal footprint. At 50 cm by 50 cm initially, the system allows for reconfiguration and expandability, depending on the process. Ideal for tight spaces, small labs, or scalable production setups.

AI Powered Picking

Equipped with the Dorna vision system, it's able to identify and locate both microplates and their microtubes to pick in dynamic or hard to reach locations. The system can be expandable to identify other types of tubes and plates as well.

Flexible Design

The system supports interchangeable, application-specific grippers—including mechanical fingers, suction, or soft touch grippers—designed to securely handle not only microtubes, but also other tube types like Falcon Tubes, or plates, pipettes, and more.
