Heating & Cooling
Block Module.

Integrates active temperature control directly into your Dorna workflow. Built around the Torrey Pines Scientific EchoTherm™ RIC20, a Peltier-based heating and cooling station sits on the fixture plate as a dedicated step — the robot places tubes, vials, or plates on the block, holds them at the target temperature for the configured duration, then retrieves them and continues.

Temperature Control as a Workflow Step

Whether the step is chilling reagents before dispensing, holding samples at 4°C during processing, incubating at 37°C for an enzyme reaction, or denaturing at 95°C — the block operates as a dedicated station in the workflow. Dorna Workspace triggers the temperature set point, monitors the hold duration, and signals the robot to retrieve the sample when complete. No manual intervention, no separate timers, no interruptions to unattended operation.

  • Heat or cool — 4°C hold to 95°C denaturation
  • Workspace manages set point, hold time, and retrieval
  • No manual intervention or separate timers

Wide Temperature Range for Common Lab Applications

The module covers the full range of temperatures commonly needed in pharma and life sciences workflows — from sub-zero sample preservation through to high-temperature denaturation and enzyme inactivation. Interchangeable sample blocks accommodate microtubes, Falcon tubes, blood collection tubes, cryogenic vials, and microplates — selected during solution scoping based on the specific vessel formats in your workflow.

  • -10°C to 100°C — sub-zero to denaturation
  • Interchangeable blocks for tubes, vials, and plates
  • Block format selected during solution scoping
