Plate Label
Print & Apply
Module.

Automates label printing and application for SBS format plates — including standard microplates, deep well plates, and RFID-enabled plates. Built around the CAB SQUIX 4 printer and SQ 3200 applicator, both mounted on the fixture plate, the module handles the full labeling sequence: picking the plate, presenting it for label application, and returning it to its position.

Complete Plate Labeling Workflow

The robot picks each plate and presents it to the SQ 3200 applicator at the correct position and orientation. The label is printed and applied in a single automated cycle, then the robot returns the plate to its destination — a rack, hotel, or instrument. Plate feeding is flexible: plates can sit individually on SBS adapters on the fixture plate, be retrieved from a Dorna plate hotel, or be picked from a stacked configuration — all within the same workflow.

  • Full cycle — pick, label, return — in one sequence
  • Under 2 seconds per label application
  • Flexible plate feeding — adapter, hotel, or stacked

High-Quality Print & RFID

The SQUIX 4 prints at 300 or 600 dpi using direct thermal or thermal transfer technology, producing sharp barcodes and text on even the smallest plate labels. Both 1D and 2D barcodes are supported. For workflows requiring electronic tracking, the module supports RFID label printing and encoding — enabling contactless plate identification and chain-of-custody tracking throughout your workflow.

  • 300 or 600 dpi — direct thermal or thermal transfer
  • 1D and 2D barcode support
  • RFID label printing and encoding for contactless tracking
Data flow from LIMS and Excel to CAB SQUIX 4 printer

From Spreadsheet to Label

Label content is driven by your existing data infrastructure — no custom software required. The module accepts print data directly from Excel files for simple workflows, or connects to your lab's LIMS for fully automated sample tracking. Every label printed is tied to sample data, supporting end-to-end traceability and regulatory requirements.

  • Excel import for simple workflows
  • Direct LIMS integration for automated tracking
  • Full sample traceability and audit trail
